Latest Trends for Spring Summer 2008

April 16th, 2008 by UTSAV

Color Trends: New fashion colors for spring-summer are bright and clear. Now, we can have polychromatic wardrobes i.e. with more than 10 different colors like citrus tones of lemon, official oranges, golden hues, neutrals, bluebells, lilacs, purples, mauves, pinks, peaches, and pomegranate red. These are the coming color trends. Traditional black with white, ultramarine blue, navy or creamy ecru set with white, are the easy alternatives for classic schemes. Some find such stunning radiance raucous. For this summer, be willing to embrace pops of color by selecting the tints and tones that suits you most. But think twice while buying the hottest fashion colors. Some colors will make you look pale, at the same time others will make you look and feel fresh and clear skinned. For this Spring-Summer, blue has become as a fashion color. The trend for blue has been slowly growing. Blue is back on the fashion color palette and with a retaliation. The Czars have worked on spring’s electric blues to produce a wide range of attractive tones like royal blue, ink blue and ultramarine blue. And if it is not your favorite color then make it as a blue outfit is a seasonal must-have.

Prints and Patterns: Floral and graphic patterns are very much in this season. Flowers are big this summer with brighter shades. Abstract and geometric prints are combined with versions of flower festooned outfits. Kalamkari print and brasso print in floral designs is in fashion with all kinds of outfits. Make sure you buy a pattern that suits your body shape. If you have big shoulders, or are very curvy, some patterns may brogue the parts of your body you don’t want to draw attention to. Try on a few styles to see what works for you. If you wear a floral print dress this summer you will have bought into the latest floral fashion trend. The mixed prints create a patchwork of sheers and semi sheer fabrics that mix and blend to appealing effect.

OutfitsMaxi dresses, floral dresses, tunics, cocktail dresses in graphic prints and from glamorous tea dresses to ruffled retro looks are very much in trend for this Spring-Summer. Sarees with floral, graphic and mixed patterns are the most talked abouts for this hot season. Become a Fashion Goddess

April 7th, 2008 by Utsav

Fashion GoddessThis is true, that there is a fashion goddess in every girl. Give a style to your fashion wardrobe; add some color, energy, attitude and fun factor in it. Groom yourself; sweep the crowd with your fascinating looks.

Become a fashion inspiration: Don’t follow the fashion blindly, create your own. Before moving towards the new trends, experiment with the simplicity. Just go for classy casuals. Don’t shop in the flea market, be picky and choosy. Don’t just focus on one aspect; you should work on your whole look.

Go for different looks: Do keep a check on what suits you most and what not. Try those delicate dresses and become a red carpet diva. Wear a red carpet outfit with focus on the midriff and the waist. Graphic patterns, bold colors, shiny, glossy and playful cuts are going to work wonders.

Make-ups and Hairdos:  You can’t think of a Goddess with overdone makeup on her skin, dark circles, and unstructured hair. For the Goddess look, define the eyes with a liner and mascara to give a complete look. Profoundly done eyes with eye shadow and the shimmer effect are in trend these days. For your lips, bare look works great with the neutral shades like caramels, pinks, and soft lilacs. The nude look is apposite. Pulled back ponytails are very much in, in the hairdos. Short layered haircut looks smashing too.

Dazzle with Jewels: Correct accessories are very important, so don’t forget to accessorize. Go funky with hippy or jumbo bags this season. Compliment your goddess look with wedge heels, sleek bracelets and cute earrings. The hot most color is white this season, so go for white metals and pearls. A bit of tribal influence is seen in the jewelry to give a distinct look.

Get an attitude: Let your looks match your body language. Don’t sit with your arms crossed, you can cross your legs this shows etiquettes. Look into the eyes of the person while talking. To show that you are interested in the conversation don’t sit or stand stiff, slightly bend forward. Don’t laugh loud just have an open smile which shows a bit of your teeth. To give your walk a confident look, slightly suck your stomach in, it even shows you taller. Always try to talk of things in general like fashion, weather or something that’s common between. Being fashion Goddess is all about attitude.

Styling Tips for the Grooms

March 28th, 2008 by Utsav

Likewise brides, grooms too need the best dressing tips for the very special D-day as its equally important for them too. The pre-wedding task most Grooms look forward to is choosing a dress. Don’t rush into anything. Get loads of inspiration and ideas from this information to choose your dream dress and please don’t forget to remember the color your dream girl is going to wear. But sometimes, it entirely depends upon your personal liking of colors and cuts. But you should gather up some information regarding your complexion and personality. Lots of dresses have zero hanger appeal, but look great once you put them on. Always go for customized dresses as they are made according to your physique and body structure.

For Fairer Groom:

Colors to wear: To look your best on your best day go for the colors which boost your skin tone like Shocking Pink, Chinese Blue, Bright White and Emerald Green.

Colors to avoid: To avoid looking washed out, fair skinned grooms should not go for Burnt Reds, Murky Blues, Orange Golds and Muddy Greens.

Styling tips: For fair skinned grooms, winter characteristics work well. Go for bright winter colors with deeper shades. This will balance the overall look and bring out the darkness of your hair and eyes.

Outfits: To match the contemporary fusional look of your bride, incorporate the colors into your sherwani like using them into your embroidery. Bright white is the best suited color as it boosts your skin tone and on this you can play with any color for your embroidery.

For Medium Tanned Grooms:

Colors to wear: If you are medium tanned then go for colors like Oyster White, Coffee Brown, Bittersweet Red and Old Gold.

Colors to avoid: For your golden brown complexion, don’t go for colors that are blue based and bright or those that are of a much cooler shade.

Styling Tips: Classic autumn palettes with more softer and earthy shades are more suited to your moderate brown tone complexion. You can add a deep yellow with muted qualities; this will accentuate the facial features particularly the eyes.

Outfits: An oyster white sherwani will boost your skin tone and will add a traditional look to your personality. Go for soft natural colors and mould them with accent colors like bittersweet red for the embroidery. The brocade embroidery in colors like antique gold and dark tomato will highlight your complexion.

For Darker Grooms:

Colors to wear: If you are blessed with the dusky complexion then go for colors like Bright White, Icy Green, Icy Violet and True Blue.

Colors to avoid: Don’t go for the colors like Orangey-Red, Rusted Golds, Moss Greens, Teals and Mocha Browns.

Styling Tips: The darker skinned are particularly blessed and can carry off any color from icy blue shades to bright winter hues. Dark colors do work if you add a contrasting brightness to balance the skin tone and eyes.

Outfits: One can go for a sherwani which suits the dusky complexion like Rusted Gold. When paired with your bride, this will look awesome as it draws a striking contrast.

Importance of wearing Indian outfits with apt color combination.

August 26th, 2007 by Utsav

It can be rightly said that anybody’s dressing style can either make or spoil ones personality. There are no two ways about this statement. This is essentially because of a simple reason that ones dressing style forms his/her first impression. In case we have not met the person before, we unconsciously judge the persons dressing skills. Since we are living in an era where mix match collections are given more weightage. While selecting clothes, we ought to be careful about the color combinations. Though these days’ girls wear odd combinations like pink, blue and red, they carry it well but there certain dressing styles look very disgraceful. Like a black and a brown salwar kameez doesn’t look good. Similarly grey with green or yellow will not really give a good look.

Though we today have many colors like bottle green or military green and turquoise blue, but they should be worn with apt colors. When it comes to Indian apparels, we find that they are immensely colorful and vibrant. However, while choosing an Indian dress material, one should ensure that the colors must complement each other. If this criterion is fulfilled one is likely to receive compliments. In summers one must try and wear pastel shades rather than flashy or very dark colors. Apart from the color combinations, one should see to it that the work or the embroidery on the suit or kurta is not very gaudy. And if you choose to wear a light kurta then possibly one should enhance it with a dark chudidar or Patiala.

Its just about thinking a bit as to what looks good on you. Wear colors, which you feel make you more confident and smart. All ones has to do is take out some time and decide upon the Indian apparels and their colors.
