Chunky Big Bangles – The Season’s Must Haves

May 11th, 2008 by UTSAV

Bangles as a fundamental Indian accessory have changed its look and appearance. Bangles in all shapes and colors have made amazingly bold come back this season. It’s time to pamper your wrists with chunky big bangles. Bangles inspired by African culture like made of wood, amber or bone with bright color inlays are very much in these days. Coordinate bangles in multi color and which do not match your outfit. Contrast is the biggest style mantra, not only with colors, but also with shapes and designs. Big metallic bangles give the outfit a stylish look while bonze, wooden and bone have an unruly look.

Do keep in mind not to wear too many thick bangles. If the thickness of the bangle is 2 to 3 inches then don’t wear more than two. One thing you must stay away from is trying to match all gaudy colors of your outfit on your arm or creating a pattern. Don’t wear too many metal or glass bangles.

For evening wear, surround your wrists with crystal and beaded bracelets. Mingle bold, clashing colors on your arms with pastel summer colors.

Delicate Indian bracelets – hottest thing to buy!

April 25th, 2008 by UTSAV

The market is packed with them; jewellery boxes are over flowing with them. Still there is that ‘one more’ bracelet we crave. There are certain pieces of jewellery that demand more attention than the others and for most of us; it has been the delicate bracelet. As being girls, you are often presented with bracelets with pretty charms or it could be plain chains or designer bracelets.

In ancient India, bracelets were very popular and were worn either along with glass bangles and gold bangles or just by themselves. It was dressy piece of accessory as small pendant was hung from it and sometimes the pendant was replaced by small chains all attached to the main bracelet. They were from same kadha family but due to its nature of grasping the wrists firmly but delicately they were quite a success. Internationally bracelets are more of rage than bangles and it is worn by both the sexes of all ages.

Today as we scour jewellery shops we witness a revival of the bracelet. The market is flooded by huge variety-tennis bracelets to charm bracelets, leather or more. Suddenly they are the hottest thing to buy and almost everyone sports one – the younger lot may be seen wearing many together. Bracelets provide a novel alternative to the usual kada and bangle. All thanks to the difference in their form, there is choice of wearing them either tightly or they can be left to hang loose around the wrist. The material used to make them is also different- you find them in materials like gold, silver, copper, wire, feathers, leather, beads and lots more.

Become a Fashion Goddess

April 7th, 2008 by Utsav

Fashion GoddessThis is true, that there is a fashion goddess in every girl. Give a style to your fashion wardrobe; add some color, energy, attitude and fun factor in it. Groom yourself; sweep the crowd with your fascinating looks.

Become a fashion inspiration: Don’t follow the fashion blindly, create your own. Before moving towards the new trends, experiment with the simplicity. Just go for classy casuals. Don’t shop in the flea market, be picky and choosy. Don’t just focus on one aspect; you should work on your whole look.

Go for different looks: Do keep a check on what suits you most and what not. Try those delicate dresses and become a red carpet diva. Wear a red carpet outfit with focus on the midriff and the waist. Graphic patterns, bold colors, shiny, glossy and playful cuts are going to work wonders.

Make-ups and Hairdos:  You can’t think of a Goddess with overdone makeup on her skin, dark circles, and unstructured hair. For the Goddess look, define the eyes with a liner and mascara to give a complete look. Profoundly done eyes with eye shadow and the shimmer effect are in trend these days. For your lips, bare look works great with the neutral shades like caramels, pinks, and soft lilacs. The nude look is apposite. Pulled back ponytails are very much in, in the hairdos. Short layered haircut looks smashing too.

Dazzle with Jewels: Correct accessories are very important, so don’t forget to accessorize. Go funky with hippy or jumbo bags this season. Compliment your goddess look with wedge heels, sleek bracelets and cute earrings. The hot most color is white this season, so go for white metals and pearls. A bit of tribal influence is seen in the jewelry to give a distinct look.

Get an attitude: Let your looks match your body language. Don’t sit with your arms crossed, you can cross your legs this shows etiquettes. Look into the eyes of the person while talking. To show that you are interested in the conversation don’t sit or stand stiff, slightly bend forward. Don’t laugh loud just have an open smile which shows a bit of your teeth. To give your walk a confident look, slightly suck your stomach in, it even shows you taller. Always try to talk of things in general like fashion, weather or something that’s common between. Being fashion Goddess is all about attitude.
