Hold them properly, make beautiful pleats out of them and place them on your shoulder right below your knee. Now before pinning this up what you have to do is, take this out so that you have a nice neat effect here. Take this saree from your back and do a tuck here. Take this saree from your back and do a tuck here. Now before doing anything else pin this up otherwise it gotta fall off. Now take this saree like this bring it over here and you add a pin here. This pin is given to add a nice neat effect over here. Delicate Indian bracelets – hottest thing to buy!

April 25th, 2008 by UTSAV

The market is packed with them; jewellery boxes are over flowing with them. Still there is that ‘one more’ bracelet we crave. There are certain pieces of jewellery that demand more attention than the others and for most of us; it has been the delicate bracelet. As being girls, you are often presented with bracelets with pretty charms or it could be plain chains or designer bracelets.

In ancient India, bracelets were very popular and were worn either along with glass bangles and gold bangles or just by themselves. It was dressy piece of accessory as small pendant was hung from it and sometimes the pendant was replaced by small chains all attached to the main bracelet. They were from same kadha family but due to its nature of grasping the wrists firmly but delicately they were quite a success. Internationally bracelets are more of rage than bangles and it is worn by both the sexes of all ages.

Today as we scour jewellery shops we witness a revival of the bracelet. The market is flooded by huge variety-tennis bracelets to charm bracelets, leather or more. Suddenly they are the hottest thing to buy and almost everyone sports one – the younger lot may be seen wearing many together. Bracelets provide a novel alternative to the usual kada and bangle. All thanks to the difference in their form, there is choice of wearing them either tightly or they can be left to hang loose around the wrist. The material used to make them is also different- you find them in materials like gold, silver, copper, wire, feathers, leather, beads and lots more.

Tips on how to choose and care your pearl jewelry

April 19th, 2008 by UTSAV

Since ancient times, the pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection. It is the oldest known gem and from centuries considered the most valuable. The latin word for pearl literally means ‘unique’, attesting to the fact that no two pearls are identical. Pearls have been considered ideal wedding gifts because these symbolize purity and innocence. In the hindu religion, the presentation of an undrilled pearl and its piercing has formed part of the marriage ceremony. Pearl armlets, pearl pendants, pearl necklaces, pearl rings, pearl bracelets, chains with pearls are quite popular.

Black, white, cream , peach, big, small, medium, tiny–pearls, the creation of an oyster, a mystical piece of adornment that has over the years been associated with sophistication. Within pearls there are a plethora of options each suited for different type of personality. Pearls are categorized as Natural pearls, cultured pearls and imitation or simulated pearls. The size of pearl too matter in adding to its value. Size contributes to the price of the pearl. The shape of a pearl determines the value too. The more symmetrical the shape, the more valuable will be the pearl. Pearls come in numerous shapes like round, pear, tear, oval, etc. Pearls of irregular size and shapes are termed as Baroque.

Tips on how to choose the right pearls for yourself:

When choosing pearls look for the luster in the pearl. The color tones should be clear, not dull or muddy.

The pearls should be without crakes, chips or disfiguring blemishes.

When strung, the pearls should blend well together, particularly in regard to orientation and color.

Caring tips for your Pearl jewelry [Do’s and Don’ts]:

- Don’t toss them carelessly into a purse or jewel box where they can get scratched against hard metal edge or harder stones like a diamond ring.

- Don’t expose them to acid based hair sprays, cosmetics or perfumes.

- Don’t clean them with chemicals or abrasives.

- Do treat pearls gently. Place them in chamois bag or wrap them in tissue when putting them away.

- Do put on pearls only after applying cosmetics, hair sprays and perfumes. So that they do not come in direct contact with them.

- Do wash pearls only with mild soap and water after taking them off. This will remove all trace of perfume cosmetics or hair spray from the pearls.

- Do bring your pearls back to a jeweler for re-stringing once a year as ordinary wear weakens and stretches the nylon threads on which the pearls are strung. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Useful Tips on wearing right earrings

April 19th, 2008 by UTSAV

Since time immortal women have been in love with jewelry. So much so that if a piece of jewelry is made or brought for them every month they still want more.  It is just one of those things for which there is no logical explanation or reason. While there are women who have no inclination for such objects of desire, the number is less that they end up being exceptions and not the rule. There are certain pieces of jewelry that are having more attention and for most of us, it has been earrings. Earrings are available in different shapes and designs. Simple earrings look good with heavy complex necklaces. It is sometimes overdone if both earrings and necklace are extravagant. Larger chandelier earrings can be worn alone without a necklace or possibly with a simple necklace. Everything in fashion doesn’t mean will suit you.

Here are some tips for choosing earrings that would look the best with your hairstyle

Tips for long hairs worn in an undo: It’s the most versatile hairstyle and all earrings go well with it.

Tips for long hairs worn down: Bold chandelier earrings or long earrings go well with this hairstyle.

Tips for short hairs: If you are having short hairs, choose short and dainty earrings.

Another important thing which should be considered in choosing right earring is facial shape / face cut. Here are some tips for finding the right earrings for your face cut:

Tips for oval face: If your face is this shape, count your blessings! With an oval shape you can choose virtually any style earrings.

Tips for long face: Short earrings are the most flattering for this facial type. Long dangling earrings tend to make the face look even longer.

Tips for round face: Long, slender earrings are a great choice for the round face as they help to elongate the look of the face.

Tips for Heart face: For the heart face we recommend triangular chandelier earrings. The wide base of the triangle earring provides an excellent contrast to the narrower chin

Tips for Square face: Round earrings or hoop earrings look fabulous on those with a square face.

Thus it’s very important to follow some guidelines before following the present trends as they can make or break your personality.
